This is a comparison of Ingenico® credit card terminals. We are not affiliated with Ingenico. Ingenico Credit Card Terminals

The terminals built by Ingenico are tough. They take a beating. That’s a good thing. Because the retail environment is rough. Many customers will touch the machines, spill coffee on them and etc. You need a machine that is rugged and made for heavy use. Ingenico machines deliver all that and more.

How to Pick a Machine That’s Right for You

What kind of business are you?

Ask yourself a question. Is my business an indoor retail business? If so, get a retail countertop machine.

Are you a retail business where you move around a lot? If so, get a mobile machine or a handheld machine.

Connectivity

Ingenico terminals connect to your payment processor via the internet or dial-up. Normally the internet is faster and dial-up is a backup solution. But if you don’t have internet available choose a machine that has dial-up as the back up.

Does my payment processor use this terminal?

With Ingenico this is not much of a question. Ingenico is a leader in this space and so it is very odd for payment processor to not offer their credit card terminals as an option. If your payment processor says no,
we say run away and find a new payment processor.

There is a lot more detail to picking the machine that’s right for you. But these are the basics that will help you make the right decision.
